I’m Amy Garnica.
I’m the mother of three lazy twenty year olds that all live at home still, but I’d miss them so much if they moved out! I just wish they’d clean after themselves! My husband of 25 years is more marvelous than not, so I plan on keeping him. I use to be a science and math teacher, but fell in love with the library while I substituted years ago. So, it’s been my long term goal for the last 15 years – go me, in the home stretch! If I pass all my classes, I should be graduating in Aug. 2017 and in my own school library in September (sighing many prayers and keeping my fingers crossed). I’m an avid reader, well listener these days. I use my library’s OverDrive app for free audiobooks – and never a late fee. I listen to 2-3 books a week. I listen while showering, making food, doing housework, driving, shopping, and waiting! I love YA, SciFi, Fantasy, Romance, Biographies, and Science (a little psychology/sociology). My attitude is life is hard enough – entertainment should be uplifting and entertaining. So, I don’t do a lot of Drama and no Horror. Favs: Gail Carriger, Sarah Maas, Scott Westerfeld, Ernest Cline, Janet Evanovich (Plum audiobooks are better than text), and so many more!!!

Hi there Amy!
I too love Audiobooks. I listen constantly at work and while doing other things as well. They're amazing, and Overdrive is perfection.
YA is my favorite genre and Sarah J. Maas is my favorite author! She's amazing! When Empire of Storms came out I went down to Austin and got my brand new copy signed and got to meet her and everything. It was amazing. She's such a wonderful person. Listening to her talk was so much fun. I can't wait for A Court of Wings and Ruin to come out in May. It can't get here soon enough. ACOMAF is probably my favorite of hers.
Sorry for the rambling, I can't help myself when it comes to the queen lol. Thanks for introducing yourself!

I'm green with envy!!! You meet her!I just finished listening to one of the YALSA 2016 Amazing Audiobooks award winners: *Illuminae: The Illuminae Files_01 by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, read by Olivia Taylor Dudley, Lincoln Hoppe, Jonathan McClain. Listening Library, 2015. 11 hours, 41 minutes; 10 discs. 9781101916643. Upon surviving the obliteration of their planet, Kady and ex-boyfriend Ezra team up to reveal the truth behind the government’s lies. Amazing sound effects and a full cast of narrators grip listeners with action and heart.
Simply amazing! (pun intended) The above description is from the list of winners for this year. I'm thinking about going through the whole list....

Simply amazing! (pun intended) The above description is from the list of winners for this year. I'm thinking about going through the whole list.... It was pretty amazing. I was so stunned to be meeting her that I was super awkward. I don't even remember what all I said lol. Ohhh, I've heard tons of great things about Illuminae. It's definitely on my to-read list. You should read The Diviners. The YALSA winners listed book two in that series and it's amazing. The voice actress is one of the most talented ones I've ever heard. I loved the audiobooks for those two books. Carry On is also very good. I really enjoyed that audiobook. I've read 3 others in print. Oh, and All the Bright Places is really good. It's a tough read though. Jennifer Niven's newest book is also really good.

Aleya, I listened to Carry On. At first I thought 'Harry Potter wanna be." But then I realized it was based on the story in Fangirl! And the whole story changed.... Wow! What a ride. I'm finally reading Empire of Storms. I'm so glad I'll finish it before the semester starts. I can't put it down! I'm loving dialog between these 'males' and the flirting. What's your next read/listen? Amy

What's your next read/listen? Amy Yes!! I loved Carry On and Fangirl. They're so unique and awesome. As long as you know that it was purposefully a Harry Potter fanfiction type thing, it doesn't bother you. But you must have read Fangirl first. Yayy!! It's really good. Have you read ACOTAR and ACOMAF yet? Currently I'm reading Windwitch (book two in the Truthwitch series). I'm going to start listening to the last book in the Young Elites series by Marie Lu next week sometime. I usually have an audiobook and a print book going. You should add me on Goodreads! I'd love to keep up with you ^ ^ www.goodreads.com/user/show/2996545-aleya
