GLISA Officer Meeting #7 Minutes: January 22, 2017

Members Present: Katrina C., Debbie C., Ivan M., Aleya W.

Meeting Schedule
Sundays at 4 for now, will be adjusted later.
Membership: 21 members since September
New Vice President?
Will wait until after webinar series to start elections for many positions.
Survey members in regards to technology
Will wait until after webinar series to conduct survey
Webinar- done via Blackboard collaborate.
Speakers:
TWU Career Connections- Monday Feb 20. Collaborate with Marie.
ALA president
Asked her if she could possibly talk about leadership in libraries. May be what she talks about.
Dr. Jeng
Need a 4th speaker?
Barbara- Library Director at a private school in San Antonio. Presents on professional development. Ivan’s boss.
How do we want to host the series?
Have one officer per speaker be the person to pose the questions from the viewers, or to have backups pertaining to that particular speaker.
Marketing/other:
Marketing will have images of speakers.
Aleya: Create survey via Google forms for webinar series and post to FB. Send link to Katrina so can include in the email to GLISA members.
Ivan will handle creation of flyers for social media via Canva and post according to schedule.
Katrina will handle creation of emails sent to GLISA members along with mailchimp. This will be an email with all webinar series information along with timing survey. Eventually they will also have RSVP option 1st.
Debbie will handle creation and sending out Cassandra emails to non GLISA members. Will cover initial announcement and eventually countdowns.
To-Do List due by Sunday, January 29th :
Ivan: will start talking to his boss about having her join us for the webinar.
Katrina will send information on the series for Ivan to pass along. Ivan will work on mini-flyers based on the content.
Will set up a youtube account for GLISA webinar series so we may post webinars.
Aleya: Create survey for the webinar to send out to members. Ask what time they’re available. 4 p.m. would be the latest time.
Collaborate with Katrina for including survey in email to all GLISA members.
Debbie:
Explore which format for Cassandra lists (Canva? Mailchimp? etc)
Create creation emails to non GLISA members. Will cover initial announcement and eventually countdowns.

Send Ivan email sent to Julie for a better understanding of time commitment for Webinar series. Due by Wedensday, 1.25.17
Create and share Webinar Series information that officers can choose from for their communication. Due by Wedensday, 1.25.17
Katrina post rest of year GLISA calendar and Webinar Series Communication Schedule. Due by Wedensday, 1.25.17
Will be contacting the blackboard Collaborate person to get the officers trained on the technology.
Questions: How can people RSVP for the event? Can we receive a list of attendees (for thank you’s and corpus)? Can we record it and send it out to those who missed?
